The City of Terre Haute will be ready and prepared to host the NIT. We have connected to the university and are finalizing coordination for a possible host NIT site. While this isn't the outcome we wanted, we will cheer ISU on and prove the NCAA wrong!

The median income is among the lowest in the state.
Childhood poverty in the Haute is DOUBLE the state average.
While Mayor Bennett has made some strides, the numbers indicate that CHANGE is needed.
Under the leadership of Mayor Duke Bennett, Terre Haute is upping its quality of life (and pickleball game) with new park improvements, and more are on the way.

Tomorrow morning, I'll make the trip to the statehouse in Indianapolis. There are several bills that have an impact on the Terre Haute community, ranging from casino revenue to recruiting law enforcement personnel. I am looking forward to discussing Terredise in the 317.

Later this summer, I will announce two new sidewalk projects to connect neighborhoods to grocery stores and parks. Simultaneously, I will request the city council to approve a sidewalk study that will create a 10-year plan to address pedestrian safety city wide.

Cleared 30 public spaces from graffiti and filled several dumpsters during our city wide clean up! Thank you to the volunteers and employees who continue to step up. We will have one more this year in the fall!

This past week, the city council unanimously voted in favor of the Terre Haute Sidewalk Initiative. Phase 1 is possible due to funds from the American Rescue Plan Act. The administration is fighting to improve pedestrian safety and create walkable neighborhoods!

Representation on boards matters. Vigo County now has two local representatives on the Indiana State Board of Trustees. This will allow the community direct input to university matters. Sen Goode has made this a top priority. He delivered. A WIN for Terre Haute.
