Here are some facts, rooted evidence-based research and my clinical experience as a maternal fetal medicine clinican scientist: • Untreated perinatal mental health account for $30 million societal costs in Wisconsin. If 10% of births each year in Wisconsin were untreated, this could result in nearly $200 million in societal costs over six years—4x more than the estimated cost of implementing this policy change. • Birthing people with Medicaid have a postpartum mortality rate 47% higher than the Statewide mortality rate, after being discharged from the hospital. • Incidence of severe maternal morbidity is 72.75% higher for birthing people with Medicaid than the statewide rate of severe maternal morbidity. —Of these 83% had a continuation or onset of symptoms after 60 days postpartum. Consider how your vote reflects an investment in birthing people, children, and the families of Wisconsin. For this MFM, the choice is clear. @mcwobgyn @ACOGAction @MySMFM
