This shouldn’t be your response @ChicagosMayor The law “does not require the mayor’s office to make gifts available for unannounced inspection, and the (ethics ordinance) contains no mandate requiring the mayor’s office to accommodate such visits.”
That unofficial policy is changing and Mayor Brandon Johnson will have to report gifts received directly to the Board of Ethics. But the mayor’s office maintains they were in the right to deny access to the Inspector General. More here:
