For the record here’s a still shot before the ball comes in, Ben got this spot on with Genge’s knee on the ground, penalty every time. The reason for the penalty is that this knee on the ground gives the L-head a big advantage on height, hence not legal. @rugbyworldcup

Again we have the same situation play out weekly where we have a 1st infringement not blown by referees and it then becomes a complete mess after. I don’t think you will get a clearer infringement at scrum time right in front of the ref, I also ask where is he looking?

It’s about interpretation, the guy puts his body in places most players won’t go nevermind 10’s. He’s upset he won’t have a hand in trying to salvage a win when there was a lot of time left on the clock. Imagine no reaction and he’s happy to stroll off. nothing in this.

@leinsterrugby actually don’t have a bad set up here and have pressure on engage, however pressure is released on Ala’alatoa side due to Porter going too hard at Jager(timing here is key to scrum success, especially on opposition ball) thus @leinsterrugby scrum gains height and.
Baird calls the swing by banging the ground. Porter driving inwards is a gimmick to allow the back five to swing around trying to deceive the ref. Ala'alatoa tries to pull Loughman round with him. Jager stays strong and keeps the angle straight to expose the runaround.

A little late to the party here but thought the Irish scrum was really good against France but more importantly it was consistent. A short clip of Andrew Porter really doing things well at T-head, in my opinion he has come on leaps and bounds and can only get better if he.

I can only put it down to lack of understanding and knowledge around this area and the referees not being equipped to make these decisions. It really is mind blowing how a ref at this level misses this and it has a serious knock on effect. @WorldRugby @FrontRowGrunt.
