There’s a pattern here; the Aspire administration promises wonderful support for local residents on lots of issues, but then puts minimal effort into making sure anyone can access payments.
When we challenged Mayor Lutfur Rahman after he broke his promise + raised Council Tax by 5% last Feb, he said up to 19,000 low income h/holds would be protected by a new Relief Fund. Officers have now disclosed that only 114 have actually benefitted. All the rest are paying more
