Just acquired this POP 1 and Top POP CGC 9.4 of WWF Magazine from August 1988. Bret Hart 1st/rookie cover. All black covers are so tough to grade high with how prevalent spine tics and fading can occur. #thehobby #wwf #brethart #cgc #whodoyoucollect

My friend Jim who is the graded magazine GOAT IMO has a super rare Hogan 1st (and only) SI cover CGC 8.0 for sale at Goldin. Very hard to grade high with the pink cover prone to the ink fading very easily. I was thrilled I was able to acquire this 9.2 few months ago.
Bidding link in the comments I’ve got this beauty currently listed on Goldin’s February Elite Auction. This has become such a sought after piece, with graded newsstand copies rarely ever coming up for sale, especially high grade examples like this one. The very 1st cover appearance for Hulk Hogan from April 29, 1985. This is a pop 5 with only 5 copies graded higher.

@DJ_Llewellyn @Leafslatest Right right! That’s what was diff about the Sundin teams. Way less talent but had big game guys throughout the lineup. Roberts, Thomas, Tucker, Berezin (RIP) and Sundin himself big time clutch players!

Sports Cards Live @SportsCardsLive with @sportscardsliv1. Great show every Saturday night with a new panel of guests each week talking about various topics around the hobby. This show was mainly focused on the ongoing inconsistency that is @PSAcard.
Also, with the stricter centering standards supposedly being enforced now and If it’s harder and harder to get a 10 especially for older cards does this increase PSA 9 values for certain sets/cards?

@DJ_Llewellyn @Leafslatest Yeap agreed! In the playoffs all bets are off can’t play dump and chase and settle in the trap like it’s 2001 and the dead puck era. Won’t work. Yes p/o hockey is tighter somewhat but end of the day still need guys to put the puck in the net at crucial times

@DJ_Llewellyn @Leafslatest Well said. Let’s be honest Matthews prob still hurt and I’d be shocked if he didn’t get some sort of off season surgery. With an aging Tavares (altho a good story) and Marner mainly an asst guy it’s basically Nylander they’re currently counting on to score on most nights

Someone’s older collection just lost a lot of clout with the newer PSA centering standards. We all knew it had been this way for the last few years but now it’s actually printed on their website. What does this say for older cards graded 10,9 that clearly don’t deserve that grade
