#OTD 1913 A.V. Roe & Co received their first external investment from the Salford Brewery company Groves & Whitnall. The Groves family were local philanthropists. This enabled a move from Brownsfield Mills in Manchester’s Ancoats district to larger premises at Clifton Street.

The A555 is still closed to midnight today (Friday 3rd) at least. This is between the airport & the Woodford junction. In addition the weather this weekend looks a bit challenging on Saturday & Sunday. Any pre bought tickets can be used at a later date if you can’t make it.

We have one of these beauties at the museum. Sadly it’s in storage as we don’t room to display it. However it is shown on special event days.
