According to United States Coast Guard, the wreckage of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX has been found on sea ice in the Norton Sound approximately 34 miles (54.7 km) SE of Nome, Alaska. There are no survivors.

The preliminary report states numerous through and non-through damages of various sizes and shapes were found in the tail section, fin, stabilizer, and rudders. Similar damages were found on the left engine and left wing of the aircraft. The investigation commission extracted a large number foreign objects from the damaged areas, and sent them for additional forensic examination.

A Learjet 55, XA-UCI, operating as Med Jets 56, was destroyed when it collided with terrain shortly after takeoff from North Philadelphia Airport (PNE/KPNE), Pennsylvania, USA. There were reportedly two pilots and four passengers onboard, and no one survived.

PSA Airlines flight 5342, a Bombardier CRJ-701ER (N709PS), and a US Army Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter collided in midair and crashed into the Potomac River near Washington-Reagan National Airport, DC. There were 64 people on board the plane and the three soldiers in the helicopter.

A Cessna S550 Citation S/II, registration YV3561, crashed shortly after takeoff from Caracas/La Carlota Air Base (SVFM), Venezuela. The aircraft came down on a wooded hillside and burst into flames. All three on board have reportedly died.

A Piper PA-18A-150 Super Cub collided with two tandem pargliders and subsequently crashed on the roof of an unoccupied chalet near Méribel-les-Allues, France. Both occupants of the Super Cub died.
