Today, the @UNPeacebuilding’s Commission opened its 19th session. As a member in 2025, Australia 🇦🇺 will work to make the UN peacebuilding architecture more impactful, focus on conflict prevention, increase engagement with our region, and support inclusive approaches.

Australia 🇦🇺 is proud to have joined the UN Peacebuilding Commission (#PBC) in 2025. At a meeting with the Peacebuilding Fund Advisory Group, we talked about ways to improve cooperation between the Peacebuilding Fund and the PBC to make a bigger difference on the ground.

Australia is focused on:.➡️ Building a stronger connection between the two groups.➡️ Increasing funding for peacebuilding efforts.➡️ Supporting initiatives to prevent conflicts before they happen.

Today Australia 🇦🇺 and Cabo Verde 🇨🇻shared their vision for the 2025 UN Ocean Declaration, to be adopted at #UNOC3. Protecting the ocean will benefit human health, ensure food security and safeguard coastal communities. This declaration is key to transformative change.

Often it is the most vulnerable in our communities who face disproportionate levels of cyber facilitated harm, amplified by the use of commercial spyware. Australia seeks a more transparent conversation about the development and use of cyber intrusion capabilities.
