Started using Cursor this week. Not liking VS Code but Cursor Composer can give some great results. Still need to dive into cursorrules and tweak my workflow. Really looking forward to @jetbrains Junie to get the same thing in Intellij!

@jezell @mraleph Agree. It also seems like many things in the community are paused/delayed or waiting for macros. Now we can just get on with it using the existing tooling and look forward to improvements there.

@caseycrogers The when pattern is much nicer to use that a switch statement in many situations. It can easily be a one liner to extract a value from a sealed class. Switch can't.

I remember using the first alpha of Android Studio the day it was released - not quite realising how big of a change it was the build system, dependency management etc. So glad we switched away from Eclipse though, I've been an Intellij fan ever since.

Spent the morning rewriting a polling function that used Timer/Completer/Future into a much nicer version using Stream.periodic. It turns out Stream.periodic is essentially impossible to test via Flutter Widget tests 😭 Darts async features really need a lot of work.

My last day of holiday and I've finally started a new side project 🎉 Using Dart for the backend deployed via Cloud Run. Excited to see how it turns how with the whole stack in Dart.

Next year I want to start a weekly 'journal' of work achievements, things I'm proud of etc. I'm thinking a private github repo, with a github app that opens a PR weekly.

@RayLiVerified Crazy that this is still a bug. Essentially makes google fonts useless.

@ASalvadorini As others have said phone_numbers_parser is great. It's based on metadata from the google libphonenumber library, and super easy to update with phone number changes etc. There's a sibling package by the same author for a phone number text field that is great as well.
