The IRS denied 501c3 status to another NIL collective. It’s not hard for the IRS to do so when collective websites focus on “recruiting and retention.” Collectives sticking around should be making the full transition into agencies.

Schools will have $20.5 million to share with athletes. Most were planning to break it down as follows: 75% football 15% men’s basketball 5% women’s basketball 5% divided by the remaining athletes

@PeteNakos_ Wow! It makes sense that the “revenue” sports capture the lion’s share. It simply means other sports will need to rely on partnerships and traditional sponsorships to provide #NIL revenue.

@TomMarsLaw The hardest thing in marketing athletes is ROI. Not perceived “subjective” emotion around partnering a brand with a player, but the media, traffic, and revenue generated. Only a handful of @ncaa #NIL deals work nationally. An @sec qb likely gets less value than a local kid
