Team Gonzalez attended the Imperial Valley Economic Development corporation’s annual dinner honoring the achievements of several key businesses and organizations in the valley. I was proud to give the invocation! It was a pleasure to meet Consul General of Japan-Los Angeles Kenko Sone, President of California Emerging Technology Fund Sunne Wright Mcpeak and other leaders.

@ZavalaA @suzettemartinez @KateSanchezCA Californians expect their representatives to exchange ideas in Sacramento. This caucus will do exactly that — People over politics!

I am proud to stand with my colleagues in forming the California Hispanic Legislative Caucus. Californians want their legislators exchanging ideas across the aisle. This caucus will do that. No more partisan exclusion!
NEW: After Democrats would not allow them to join the CA Latino Legislative Caucus, Republicans are forming their own group: The California Hispanic Legislative Caucus. Co-chairs Sen. @suzettemartinez and Asm. @KateSanchezCA sat down with me today.

🚨 #ICYMI: I proudly introduced my first bill! For far too long the California Air Resources Board, an unelected group of Governor appointees, has driven up costs and implemented harsh regulations which impact our daily lives. I want clean air, water, and an overall healthy environment, but if we are going to take drastic actions through crippling regulations and harmful taxes to address what the State calls a climate crisis, why are we not taking emissions from wildfires into account? My bill would require CARB to include these wildfire emissions in their emissions reports. Perhaps then, we will finally start addressing the causes of wildfires and work towards meaningful prevention. Let’s prioritize preventing wildfires and protecting our residents instead of pushing harmful regulations forcing hard-working Californians out of their gas-powered vehicles.

I appreciate @ZavalaA asking these questions. I proudly represent many Democrat Latinos from a border district. They most definitely care about having their voices represented in the Latino Caucus. Unfortunately, they aren’t being represented in this caucus. We need to put people over politics and start dialogue on the concerns of Latinos and Californians in general across the board.
The California Latino Legislative Caucus mission statement says nothing about being Democratic. I asked the group’s leader if it should be clear about its intent if it’s going to exclude Republicans? “Sure, we can absolutely do that…”

California continues to lead the nation in homelessness. Years of failed policies have allowed this crisis to grow. Â Over 187,000 Californians live on the street or in shelters and 28% of all homeless veterans in the nation are here in California. My fellow brothers and sisters who stepped up to serve this nation live couch to couch or even outside on sidewalks. This is unacceptable. Â We need common-sense reforms that bring down housing costs, treat addiction and mental illness, getting more homeless into shelters where they can start a journey to getting back on their feet.
