The same reason that the Warsaw Uprising was done in a ghetto where the Resistance to Nazis was fought from tunnels. Resistance against Israeli and Nazi occupation and follows a similar pattern with the exception that the Palestinian Resistance is more disciplined and it withstands attacks from Israel and because Israel is weak it is backed by the US, UK, France, Germany.
