A few hours after
#LeteciaStauch
was found guilty in first degree murder, a rainbow appeared outside of the courthouse. Today, the Stauch family got justice for their 11-year-old boy after waiting more than 3 years. Perhaps, this is a sign from

to his loved ones 💙
There she is, in all her glory. The first Whataburger in Colorado Springs is opening today at 11 a.m.
At 6 a.m., there are three cars in the drive-thru, waiting on the grand opening. 🍔🍔🍔

A heartbreaking week in the Coastal Bend after three separate drownings. 5-year-old Ryu Barrientes, 7-year-old Beau Henderson and 18-year-old Je'Sani Smith lost their lives. Prayers to all the family and friends as they go through this difficult time. May they rest in peace.

Support for Gannon Stauch and his family is pouring in from all across the country. Heather Poole traveled from Rhode Island to show her support and post these signs outside of the El Paso County Courthouse.
Hi
@Chilis
, are you closing?
Because I've seen posts all over my social media, but none from a reputable source. The world wants answers.
Sincerely, a long-time customer who has indulged in A LOT of honey chipotle chicken crispers over the years.
A new mural in Colorado Springs is honoring the memory of Gannon Stauch, an 11-year-old whose stepmother was convicted in May of his murder. The message behind the mural is "love," and will also feature Gannon's favorite color, which was blue.

Here are the first two customers to go through the drive-thru at the first Whataburger in Colorado (and in Colorado Springs). They had been in line since 4:30 in the morning, and placed their orders at exactly 11 a.m.
After the verdict was reached and the sentencing was announced in the murder trial for Letecia Stauch, 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen signed a poster that said, “Justice for Gannon.”
Landen Bullard, Gannon Stauch's mom: "I slept a little later and slept great. I felt relief. I felt peace. I walked outside and thought, what am I going to do now? I'm very thankful for the first time in more than three years to have that feeling."
The Pikes Peak Pride parade just began in downtown Colorado Springs. Survivors of the Club Q shooting and family members of the victims are leading the parade. What a special moment for them, as they remember their loved ones, but also celebrate the local LGBTQ+ community.
Tomorrow officially marks the end of the first chapter in my career. Next week, I'm leaving
@KRIS6News
and South Texas to pursue a new job opportunity, but before I go, I want to say THANK YOU to the Coastal Bend community.
We're also talking to Al Stauch, Gannon's father. He said he wasn't able to sleep much last night, but he's looking forward to "moving forward, but never moving on."
Just spotted in Corpus Christi at 7am: A man wearing a cowboy hat, standing in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant, with the tailgate of his pickup down, eating a breakfast taco off of it. Only in South Texas, y'all.

Heading into the 4th of July weekend with a BANG! And a big smile. And here's why. Last month, I tested positive for coronavirus. But after self-isolating for 2+ weeks, sleeping more often than I was awake (I learned I'm really good at this), having serious hot flashes and...
Around lunch time today, get your solar eclipse glasses ready and head outside!
The solar eclipse will last about 2 1/2 hours, with peak visibility in Colorado at 12:40 p.m. That's when 65% of the sun will be covered by the moon.
Trading in my beach sandals for hiking boots because I'm moving to colorful Colorado! So excited to join the
@KOAA
news team in Colorado Springs and take on a new adventure 🤍🤗
During his impact statement yesterday, Al Stauch read a few words written in yellow on a piece of paper by Gannon's little sister, Laina. “You do not do that to people, especially your stepkids, and it is never alright to do these things.”

Al Stauch is crying, and wiping away tears. Landon Hiott is also crying and wiping away tears. Everyone in the Stauch family is embracing one another, as they’ve been waiting more than three years for justice for their little boy.

Hey
@facebook
, my personal and professional account was hacked THREE days ago and I've heard NOTHING from you guys. I've lost 15 YEARS of memories, photos and my work. As a journalist in my community, who's worked so hard on that page, this is devestating. Please do something.
Today marks 1 year since I've been a part of the
@KRIS6News
Sunrise crew! A year full of early wake-up calls (typically 3am), fresh cups of tea in the morning (because I don't like coffee), and a whole lot of fun (because fun is what we like to do on the morning show)!

takes on Hollywood!
What an incredible experience at the NAHJ conference. Met many talented storytellers these past few days, and reconnected with others I hadn’t seen in years. Most importantly, learned so much from Latino journalists across the country 😌🤍
District Attorney Michael Allen is addressing the community members who are in the courtroom: This family, this community and this office very much has appreciated the support this community has given.”
It's a full gallery in the courtroom for the murder trial for Letecia Stauch. Every row and seat is filled. Gannon's family is here, lawyers are here, and now we're waiting on the judge.
As we're waiting for the judge to arrive, I've looked over several times to the Stauch family. Al Stauch, Gannon's father hasn't moved much. He's been looking forward the entire time.
I'm hearing a lot of community members whispering in the courtroom. Dozens of people have showed up to show their support for Gannon Stauch and his family. Meanwhile, many in the Stauch family have remained silent this entire time.

First day in the books
@KOAA
and blessed is an understatement. 🤗
Yes, I worked from home all day, but so excited to be a part of this talented news team! 🎥📺
Landon is giving District Attorney Michael Allen a very long, emotional hug right now. More of the family is hugging one another and embracing one another.
A few more videos from today, as the Stauch family finally got the justice they’ve been wanting and waiting for, for more than three years.

What I learned as a reporter, reporting on a big snowstorm:
- bring snacks and don’t forget to eat
- you’ll forget what time it is, or how many live shots you’ve done
- always bring your handy dandy measuring stick
- and have fun!!
The defense is expected to rest their case tomorrow morning in the
#LeteciaStauch
murder trial. Stauch is the Colorado stepmom accused of killing her stepson
#GannonStauch
in January 2020. I'll be in the courtroom tomorrow, as closing arguments are also expected.
My parents flew in from PA today, and waited for me at my apartment while I was at work. I came home to them cleaning my place from top to bottom (laundry, vacuuming, bathroom, kitchen). Gosh, I love them 😂❤️
Honestly, I could not have covered this trial without the support and love from my amazing team at
@KOAA
. When times were tough, they know exactly what to say to keep me going. I appreciate each and every one of you 💙
Ashley’s reporting of the court case was impeccable. The amount of hours she put in to make sure every fact was shared from the case is unbelievable, just look at the notes she posted on her Twitter for proof. She worked tirelessly to make sure her reporting was good quality.
