I’ll just say this. You can lift someone up or you can bring them down. BH I can handle negativity. But you never know who can’t. You never know what someone is going through. Imagine if your comment breaks them.
It costs nothing to be kind.
Shavua Tov! At the event I played on Thursday night someone requested this well known song from my father & I realized I had never sang it with him. So I called him into the studio on Friday to quickly lay this down. Wishing you all a Gmar Chasima Tova!
I didn’t feel like singing or playing today. But then I remembered Elkana’s HY’D letter - “Sing a lot, enter people’s hearts… strengthen one another.” I felt an obligation to sing. And this was the song that I felt in my heart.
We are relieved to confirm the safe release of 24 hostages.
We have facilitated this release by transporting them from Gaza to the Rafah border, marking the real-life impact of our role as a neutral intermediary between the parties.
Being a Jewish songwriter is brutal. If I’m not using words from davening, Tehilim, etc. and I’m writing in English- how many topics are there? There are only so many angles of the same topics… weigh in over here 🤷♂️
ACHIM BEYACHAD ft. Shlomo Lipman. this song comes out NEXT WEEK! We’ve been working hard on this for a while now and it’s been challenging with Shlomo out in the reserves. But it’s almost here 🙏
Coming back to center stage (a thread):
When I started out making my own music, I was THE GUY. I was the frontman, playing guitar and singing my songs. Starting from the original kumzits on Thursday nights in the old city
This is for the old schoolers here. What was it about the Soulfarm, Moshav, Blue Fringe era that was so awesome? Those shows and those albums were legit some of the best
These guys are some of the best in the business and also happen to be some incredible friends. Watching this video brought me a joy that I really can’t describe. (Names in the comments)
GAM ft.
@meirlevinemusic
• When Meir came to my studio years ago to produce an album for Waterbury, this song was an instant standout. We got together last week, before our show opening for Ishay Ribo, to record this acoustic version.
Well I’m not just going to talk about music here. I’m going to share it also. Probably one of my favorite Jewish rock songs of all time needed a ripping guitar solo. So alas. Enjoy. “ATA KADOSH” by Adi Ran
I believe what sets Ishay Ribo apart is the mindset that his music is for Hashem’s sake. As artists, it’s so easy to get lost in ourselves and our creativity that we can forget this. Understanding this has really shifted the way I approach music lately.
I had an interesting thought on Jewish music and secular music. A small thread. I find that even meaningful secular songs (ala Stop This Train by John Mayer) lack the spiritual end of things but are extremely relatable on a human level.
It’s really interesting. I’ve gotten so much positive feedback on the AH music video. There were a small few who took issue to Meir not wearing a kipa. It was actually my decision for him not to wear it. I wanted to show that connection is for everyone at wherever they’re at.
Releasing Music Expectations - A thread: As someone who released music, there’s a hard balance of managing expectations for a song and simply appreciating the results of the release.
I’ve been doing this music thing for a long time now. Last night was probably one of the most emotional and incredible moments of my career. So grateful to be able to do this.
Turning 38 today. Thinking back to May of last year where I set out on a journey to pursue being an artist again… so grateful to where this has taken me. Last week opening for Ishay Ribo was another step on this incredible path. TYH.
The dream & passion I had buried deep inside of me resurfaced. There were no regrets for not coming back sooner. The focus became one of the now. The goals resurfaced & I realized; it was time to cause a shift, take a risk, make a change. I was ready to go back to the front.
So I’ve gotten a bunch of requests to talk about my relationship with R’ Yosef Karduner. I’ll start with a small thread on how I met him and a little bit about my history with him.
Many of you have come to here to listen to my covers & collabs but I wanted to start sharing some original music as well. This song has taken on a whole new meaning since October 7. It’s a longing to return to innocence, to simpler times. This “Who I Used To Be”
𝐀𝐁𝐁𝐀 (Fried) ft. Uri Davidi
To be honest I was not sure about posting at all after yesterday's news. But for me that's more of a reason to share this reel.
I think that’s why the new Israeli wave of music like Ishay Ribo has been so successful. Aside from being good music to start with - it’s the blend of human and spiritual that makes his music so relatable.
