Do not focus too much on Clinical medicine during your USCE. Medical knowledge is only one of the 6 core competencies of ACGME. If you are able to carry difficult conversations with patients and families, You are ready for residency. We have reinstated our observership program !

Tips for New PGY1s: Dont be too hard on yourself. Specifically if you are an IMG, give yourself 3-6 months to adjust. During this time stay humble, friendly and show good attitude towards everyone. Stay focussed on your goal which is to learn medicine.
