@francisdeng We absolutely should encourage students to pursue research, volunteer, & work experiences. Only so much “book learning” translates to being a good physician. Volunteering at a clinic, working as a research assistant, & doing experiments is not inauthentic.

@jasonryanmd No, if accurate, it is 37 total research items, which include oral and poster presentations. Often, students will present the same project in multiple venues to increase the overall count of research items. However, this is still extraordinary!
