Arboriculture Research Grant 2025 Applications Close 31st January Each year the Arboricultural Association offers a grant to support research into a relevant arboricultural topic. Over the last few years this has helped to advance projects from surveying bats in trees to biomechanics and the physical effects of tree climbing. Applications are invited for funding of up to £5,000 for projects based within the UK. Welsh Government have an open consultation on changes to the protection of trees and woodlands in Wales. The changes seek to bring the Planning Act 2008 into effect, and to make new regulations, replacing the Town and Country Planning (Trees) Regulations 1999. The proposed changes include: 🌳 simplifying the protection process, 🌳 introducing woodland preservation orders, 🌳 defining amenity. The consultations close on 14th February 2025. Anyone may submit individual feedback online on and by e-mail or post. The Arboricultural Association will submit a response. Members are welcome to send any feedback to us while we formulate our comments. Please refer to the relevant paragraph numbering in the consultation document and question numbers in the response form. Please send an e-mail to technical@trees.org.uk by 31st January.
