One more deal to make, it’s for another RP
🚨KASUMBA UPDATE🚨
He has made it to America!! 🇺🇸
He was very overwhelmed by the airport but has made it safely and has so great help looking after him.
The journey is just beginning. Check out my interview with the 18yo catcher from Uganda ⬇️

Since joining the Red Sox, Romero has played a significant role in the signings of Red Sox international prospects such as Rafael Devers, Manuel Margot, Yoan Moncada, Darwinzon Hernandez, Ceddanne Rafaela, Brayan Bello, and Bryan Mata
The Bellinger deal is not really a 3 year deal but rather a 1 year/$30M deal with player options. One year with pillows, essentially. Nice deal for the Cubs. Bellinger will get a shot to repeat 2023, if he does he'll get over $200M this time next year
The Yankees acquired a 25 year old future Hall of Famer who may go down as the best hitter ever and some people had the nerve to say "but it's just for one year"
So far, Twins have lost Maeda, Sonny, and Mahle to FA, as well as Pagan, Gallo, & Floro. Unlikely they bring back Michael A Taylor or Donovan Solano. Now, they move Polanco for a top 100 prospect. Not seeing an attempt to get better or even maintain for 2024
Congrats to Helton, Mauer, Beltre, and Leyland! We knew the last three would be here, but I was surprised about Helton, honestly. I'm still happy for him, though
Don't comment on football, but it's hilarious to me that the Chiefs are complaining about rules being enforced. What's the point of the rule if we aren't calling it?
Nice return for Milwaukee on their star entering a contract year. I think Ortiz will be productive MI for years, and Hall is an exciting young arm with explosive fastball. Will be an All-Star if he can improve his command
Reminder-JD Martinez has made 5 All Star Teams in 6 years! .890 OPS during that time, great pickup for the Mets, who only have to pay $4.5M in 2024, rest is deferred
Nelson Cruz announced on the
@AdamJonesPod
that he is retiring from baseball. What a career!
▫️ 7x All-Star
▫️ 2011 ALCS MVP
▫️ 4x Silver Slugger
▫️ 2021 Roberto Clemente Award
▫️ 464 career home runs
Had not put it all together that AJ Preller and the Padres has traded Andres Munoz, Matt Brash, and Ty France to Seattle via trade. In return, SD got 3 relievers combined + a badly needed catcher in Austin Nola. Mariners also got Trammell (Top 100 at the time) in the Nola deal!
Baseball is more popular in the U.S. than at any point in the last 16 years.

“Baseball participation is at nearly 16.7 million in the United States, the highest officially recorded level since SFIA’s survey of more than 120 sports began in 2008.”

Jung Ho Lee is a 5 time GG and 2022 MVP from the KBO. He's gonna get on base at a .350+ clip, and he's gonna play great outfield defense for you. He may never steal 30 or hit 30 HR, but I wouldn't be surprised if he hit .285-290
Today, I posted reporting that included inaccurate information that Shohei Ohtani was traveling to Toronto. I regret the mistake and apologize to baseball fans everywhere. I am deeply sorry for letting you down.
Whit Merrifield “might be a priority for the Red Sox,” according to
@jcmccaffrey
.
Merrifield is one of the few strong defensive 2Bs on the market and
@TheAthletic
projects he will receive a 2-year, $19M deal.
Yes, it's true that the San Francisco Giants drafted Zack Wheeler at
#6
in the 2009 draft then traded him away in 2011 for 167 Carlos Beltrán at-bats and some cash that all went to Beltrán.
Tigers owing Baez $98M over the next four years is a rough situation. .633 OPS so far, and probably only going south from here. He's good at short, but this is one of the worst FA deals in the last several years
