When the volatility is extremely high the slippage can be huge. The best decision is to avoid to be on a trade before the news and potential volatility- usually itβs 8:30, 10 am, 14:00 FOMC news. Unless itβs already a good green position and trade is already safe. Stop at BE. Even with seepage it wonβt damage much. In this case stop for some reason got rejected. We donβt know why but if this happening- close position manually right away. Donβt think or hope. Ilya had a chance for couple minutes to close the position with original stop or a little more. but because his mind got frozen he waited hoping it will return. We canβt allow our mind get frozen in the market and need to act immediately. If this would be a real cash account we can make a screenshot with our stop loss limit and contact broker. They can adjust the trade base on original stop limit if mistake happens on their side. That happened to me. Need to make sure you have confirmation that limit was there.

@d_grangroth21 Lots of great instruments around. Too complicated for me. I like when itβs simple. π

Iβm not saying scalping is bad. But the mind needs to be mature enough to take losses manually just as quickly as it takes profits. Often, traders can easily do this with a smaller size, but as soon as they see how fast they can make a couple of Rs, they think about increasing leverage to make money even faster. However, their mind may be far from ready to handle bigger losses without being affected by emotions. And emotions can ruin all their results faster than they can blink an eye.
