Happy birthday ceilidh trail! I did two summers in 2013 and 2014, and it’s the best experience, both in terms of advancing your understanding of what it is to be a musician but also, and perhaps most importantly, for finding your people ♥️

🧵1/5 We are celebrating the 25th edition of the @feisrois Ceilidh Trail this year. I have been involved in 20 of the 25 years! I was a participant in 2001, coordinated the tour in 2002, 2003 and 2005, and I have been involved in my current role for the past 15 years.

A shocking read but a much needed report, congratulations to those involved in creating it and I hope change will be enacted.

This weekend we’ll be focussing on moons: the eponyms of lunar craters, that are mostly named after famous scientists, and the moons of Jupiter, Mars and Uranus. Anyone can take part! See you tomorrow 🌗 #hackathon #planetaryscience

In previous events we collected statistics for Mars and Mercury. Craters on Mercury adopt the names of famous artists: only 89% are named after men, 90% identify as heterosexual, 65% are of European descent. Yet it has some of the best diversity statistics across the solar system

This weekend is the third (and hopefully final!) planetary science data entry hackathon. Taking part will involve researching the people behind the names of planetary features and anyone can be involved. Join online or in person at @OpenUniversity, @unisouthampton @wethecurious_
