Thank you, Nino, for organizing this outstanding in-person faculty meeting, bringing together clinicians and scientists to brainstorm the best strategies for integrating MGB CTNS. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from each disease workgroup and connect with colleagues.
Getting ready for the inaugural Center for Tumors of the Nervous System (CTNS) event at the Harvard Club today! Excited to hear from all of our speakers. #CTNS #HarvardClub

Congratulations @wenyalindabi and team!! Very important insights in the field of IDH-mutant astrocytoma.
Congrats @wenyalindabi and team on an important paper on IDHmut astrocytoma 🚨 New insights on IDH-mutant astrocytomas. Background: Molecular features like CDKN2A/B loss already enhance glioma grading and prognosis. But for histologic Grade 2/3 IDHmut astrocytomas, molecular markers to refine survival predictions are lacking. Study: Analyzed 998 adult IDHmut astrocytoma patients (1989–2020) using public datasets + academic medical centers. Researchers integrated histologic grades, CDKN2A/B loss, and focal gene amplifications for risk stratification. Findings: •Grade 2/3 tumors with intact CDKN2A/B & no amplifications had longest survival (OS ~205.7 months). •Grade 2/3 tumors w/ CDKN2A/B hemizygous loss or amplifications had similar survival to Grade 4 tumors (OS ~80-91 months). •Grade 4 astrocytomas w/ CDKN2A/B loss had worst prognosis (OS ~31-32 months). Key Insight: CDKN2A/B hemizygous loss + focal amplifications identify a subset of IDHmut astrocytomas with intermediate survival, independent of histologic grade. Impact: Combining molecular features w/ histology refines classification + prognosis for IDHmut astrocytomas, paving the way for more tailored treatment approaches. #Glioma #NeuroOncology #PrecisionMedicine @MGBneurosurgery

Thrilled to see such promising results for DIPG treatment! Huge congratulations to Michelle and the team for this breakthrough! #DIPG #NeuroOncology
#CARTcells for #DIPG #DMG clinical trial (1st arm) results are out today. Full Tweetorial coming, but first want to share the story of a patient whose #DIPG has disappeared for over 3 years. It is a milestone and moment of hope on a journey filled with so much grief. “There’s a lot of loss that led to this research,” Drew’s dad said. “I hope those families know that this success is because of them.”
