Just got the news.
Orcs hit one of “my” medical brigades in the East.
8 doctors killed, a few injured. All their supplies burnt, nothing left.
The doctors who aren’t injured will continue working, I’m rushing there this weekend to resupply them.
Any help will be appreciated.
OMG, I’m crying like I’ve never cried before!
My friend got exchanged and is coming back from Russian captivity!

My volunteering in Kyiv Military Hospital ended in 2015, with a nervous breakdown.
A soldier, captured and tortured by 🇷🇺, shared very visceral memories about them breaking his limbs, taking out his eye with a spoon, etc
I wasn’t able to go back there for 8 years.
Till today.
Something big happened today.
First blood transfusion in a trench 🩸
Successfully performed by 12th brigade NGU. The wounded soldier is saved and will live.
Finally, after 2 years of hacking the stupid system, overcoming red tape, enormous amounts of efforts put into

Some are quiet, some are nervously vaping.
One soldier did a little “meditation” and amygdala breathing, and then was cracking jokes for the rest of the way.
I was low-key
I just got back from the East, and a wonderful stranger from Twitter, who wished to remain anonymous, met me at the train station to give me a bag of much needed Israeli bandages 🫂

This is what a CCP (casualty collection point) looks like.
From places like these wounded soldiers are brought to stabilisation points where doctors stop bleeding, restart hearts, replace lost blood and make sure that patients are stable enough to survive the ride to a hospital.
Most stabilisation points near the frontline receive an average of 100-150 wounded soldiers a day. MedEvacs come in every 15 min. We supply them with critical bloodstoppers because every tourniquet or adrenaline shot equals a life.
“Let’s go, I’ll show you our morgue”, says reconnaissance battalion medic casually.
He walks me out of a “safe” stabilization point to a small building outside. It has more holes from artillery in it than it has windows.
“All the KIA were removed from here earlier today.
What can make a Ukrainian girl happy 😍😍😍
When Special Forces fighting in Avdiivka ask me for a 3rd gen NVG that costs 5500 USD,

I’m delivering this
I received news that one of stabilisation points on the frontline that I was planning to go to this week, is gone.
Direct hit.
I didn’t have the heart to ask how many medics and wounded soldiers were inside.

Recently UA army authorities ordered to have all soldiers’ IFAKs checked and verify that they are filled with quality supplies. Deadline was 3 days ago.
Should be good news, in theory, right?
Look at what different units are saying:
- no one contacted us for any checks
- oh
This combat medic approached me in a frontline village.
- “Are you volunteers?”
- “We are.”
- “Do you have any tacmed? I’m a combat medic and my medic bag is empty”
We were coming back from a supply run, with empty car after we distributed all we brought.
My friend Lea tossed

When I was heading back, a guy from the medical unit that YOU all helped resupply, came to see me off, and brought me an appreciation letter🥹
This appreciation totally goes to all of you who donated and RTd 🫂
You made a huge difference for this medical team 💛💙 Thank you!!!
Quantity wise, russian losses are much bigger than ours.
But quality wise… 💔💔💔
While russia is getting rid of trash (alcoholics, criminals, etc), we are losing the best - artists, scientists, athletes, highly educated professionals…
We’ll need generations to recover.
Just got off the phone with a friend from 3rd assault brigade.
He was telling me how they were fighting being surrounded by Russians.

Yes, contrary to many people’s beliefs, medics are a target at this war.
I keep hearing things like
💔“we were a 9 medics team, now we’re only 2 still alive”
💔our ambulance got hit by a drone, only 1 man survived
💔entire medical team was killed and we can’t even collect
Russian forces have consistently targeted medics and vehicles evacuating the wounded throughout the full-scale war. Medics are instructed to prioritize their safety over the wounded, but often risk their own lives attempting to save others.

It's happened too many times already since the start of the full-scale war over 2 years ago. Some foreigner will claim to be helping Ukraine, they'll say the right things and maybe do some good things at first, and then it'll go bad and they'll go after others or misuse donations

Yes, recently the legislation finally changed and now pre-hospital blood transfusion is finally legalised. Thanks to enormous efforts of many volunteers, activists etc that were pushing for it.
There is a special place in hell for those who donate shitty IFAKs to soldiers.
With a trash tourniquet and no proper bleed stops.
If boys are wounded, they don’t even stand a chance.
And on paper the unit is fully supplied, so they can’t apply for normal IFAKs.
It’s a crime🤬
BEFORE and AFTER.
My medics urgently needed a facility closer to their stabilisation point for the next leg of evacuation. Their field hospital was 3h drive away and it was too much and too painful for wounded soldiers.
So we had to improvise a new one from bare walls.

Some people are wondering why the wiped out medical unit isn’t on the media. I’ll try to explain.
Medical unit of a brigade is MILITARY. Medics that got killed served in the army. Military losses (soldiers, medics, pilots, etc) are not highlighted on media for OPSEC reasons.
It’s a very weird feeling, to send a combat medic bag to a friend’s dad.
A girl I’ve known for years in pre-war life. She’s still in denial that her civilian 50+ dad suddenly ended up on the battlefield.
She texted me confused, not knowing what to ask and how to get aid for
