Two brothers are risking their lives to protect a cat shelter in northern Gaza City | @AnimalFriendsAF Tamer Skaik, 37, and 36-year-old Samer Skaik have refused to abandon their cats and move south following a warning from Israel to evacuate the area late last week. "[I want to make a] pledge in front of the whole world to stay with our cats and to continue taking care of them, and either we all live or our fate is death," the brothers told 10 News First. With no reprieve in sight, the Animal Friends Shelter in Gaza is struggling to cope as Israel ramps up its offensive against Hamas.

After 490 days of brutal bombing, massacres, famine, scorching heat, bitter cold, the spread of epidemics, power outages & water pollution, they were not satisfied with this level of suffering, but they sentenced us to emigrate from our beloved country, Gaza. Why is all this injustice inflicting on us? Tell us what sin we have committed. Yes the aid before the temporary ceasefire was little & insufficient, but we were able to secure food by your d0nations, but now during the temporary ceasefire period, aid has been cut off, & even your d0nations have become almost non-existent, & we have become unable to provide even the daily food.
