I write lots of inane rubbish on here but one of the few things I'm serious about is helping other parents - especially dads - who have lost a child. I hope my own experience of loss, therapy and recovery can help others:

I never thought that I was the kind of man who needed therapy, even after our son died. It turns out I was wrong. Don’t be too proud – it could save your life.

On days like these…. one of the smoothest songs of the 20th century delivered by one of the smoothest of all voices. Rest in peace Quincy Jones,

Field Marshal JPC has been consulted and is currently reading through his original copy of The Art of War - incidentally gifted to him by his pal Sun Tzu after they defeated the bastard infidel cats of Miaow Miaow in 567 BC - for inspiration.

Right. I came off here a while ago because of the toxicity and pathetic behaviour of Elon Musk. But it's just been gently pointed out to me that I left behind a lovely little community of fellow bereaved parents. So, I'm still here if anybody needs anything, just a lot quieter.

Just a little note to my lovely community of bereaved parents. I am now using Bluesky. I don't want to lose touch with you all so will keep my account here open so that we can still exchange messages but the best place for me is LinkedIn or here:

If any of my connections on here are also on Bluesky and want to connect let me know. I’m going to be over there for the foreseeable future, at least until this place calms down. It’s quieter but much friendlier. You’ll find me & the Field Marshal here:

The Field Marshal and I have decided to take a walk over to BlueSky. We hope to come back but whilst Elon Musk continues to be divisive, narcissistic and sociopathic we will be running around in a more pleasant place. I hope some of you will join us.

This place has become too toxic for me. I can handle most of it but when the owner is a dangerous, divisive & sociopathic monster it’s time to give it a rest. I’ll keep an eye on things to see if it’s worth coming back but until then I’ll be on Bluesky

Just one of many politicians at both ends of the spectrum ignoring their own part in creating the toxic atmosphere we are experiencing today. Tension like this doesn't just appear - it's nurtured. You don't just get to call out something you have played a part in creating.
All violence must end. All violence must be called out. Now is the time to punish the guilty and restore order.

Once again, I find myself wondering how much longer I can stay on this platform. For me it's mostly a place of positive interaction with others, especially ad folk & fellow bereaved parents, but when the owner actively encourages civil unrest, it's time to look at other options.

It’s almost as if Elon Musk wants war and death. He is rapidly becoming one of the world’s most dangerous and awful people.

A beautifully written piece on dying, death and grief…..
Oddly, for me, I have very few words! Gratitude to @lisamarkwell and @Telegraph to be given a platform to share Neve and our story. Sadness not to be able to tell Neve. A mix of bittersweet emotions. https://t.co/JJoehT960q My hope is that reading my words can help 1/2

What we should be ashamed about in this country is the appalling deprivation; lack of education, culture, beauty, self-respect & dignity. Millions should be living better lives. That requires imagination & vast input in teaching, sport, theatre, music, nature, skills etc

These riots are so depressing and sad. What they show, amongst many other things, is that Britain has a stupidity problem as much as anything else.

There appears to be a trend on here that if you express outrage over one thing but not over something else - that may or may not even be related and that you might not even be aware of - your opinion doesn’t matter. Whataboutery is so tedious. By the way, I think Lego is evil.

This is so wrong. Women’s sport needs to be protected.
Shame on everyone who allowed this to happen and finally, shame on those of you who have the audacity to defend why this should happen. This isn’t women’s sport, this is a disgrace. #SaveWomensSport #Paris2024
