I'm fascinated by Imagineering & theme park design. One of the most fascinating Disney rides, to me, is the Shanghai version of Pirate of the Caribbean, which focuses attention in some really interesting ways. (thread 👇)

@M1sterFox Agreed. I rarely check in nowadays, and I miss feeling there was a ND/writer community a tweet away.

@marykanpie I'm so glad you said it. Apparently there's something very compelling about 'big man hit bad man, world okay now'.

@bryanintihar hi, it was great to hear about Mission Directors in your podcast chat with Ted. May I ask how many Mission Directors you had in total? Did they volunteer? Or were they chosen?

Ideally the glass sheet would be far bigger and its edges obscured, but I threw this together quickly. The next step was to position a monitor below the screen, angle the Perspex, and position a lantern behind the ‘ghosts’ to give a sense of depth in the room beyond.

@YESSSElectrical The touch panel on my Osily radiator has not operated since it was installed, and I didn't receive a remote control. Is there a way to get hold of a replacement remote for a wall-mounted Osily electric radiator so I can set it up?

Satirical illustrations and cartoons are often a really elegant way to encapsulate the mood of a fictional place and time. Tom Toro published this cartoon in 2012, and it continues to be the most apt summary of late capitalism 11 years later.

@Peter5tewart *AI-generated Oppenheimer looking down at something out of frame* Oppenheimer: "I am become death, destroyer of..." *Camera dollies back to reveal Burger King meal on table* Oppenheimer: "WHOPPERS!" *He takes a bite. The top of his head flips open revealing mushroom cloud.*

Welp, on the off-chance that social media ever becomes a thing again, I’ve bagged a Threads account here: Hope springs eternal…

@Peter5tewart Welp. Serves me right for failing to get through the pile of shame in time, I guess.

@laurenistone The ocean and English don't get on. You start by Googling 'Is a whale shark a whale or a shark?' and before you know it you've learned that the word 'fish' has no biological meaning.
