#OTD 1972 - Alan Benes was born in in Evansville, IN. Benes broke in with the Cardinals in 1995 and pitched for them until 2001. Injuries derailed his promising career and he missed the entire 1998 season. | @AndyBenes40

@MLB is a small fraternity of men blessed to put on those uniforms. And many will continue in very prominent roles after careers are over. Mr. Uecker certainly did that and he filled so many people’s heart w joy thru our great game. Privileged to know him. RIP my friend.

College Football playoff down to 2 teams but most games were lopsided. This was debated: too many teams, who got in that maybe shouldn’t, seedlings, etc.. I enjoyed reading and thought provoking. However, NFL Wild Card Weekend averaged 15+ pt margin of victory. Only 1 competitive game, hmmm
