🇫🇷 The Famous Five On the night of 16 September 1941, five French high school pupils, took to the waters of the English Channel in two canoes after months of planning and preparation to join de Gaulle's Free French in London. Before they left, each one left a message on the bed, it simply said, "Dear Parents, I have gone to join General de Gaulle."
