Paying a $9 congestion fee just to drive one block into the zone to get on the Queensboro Bridge to visit family is absurd. If it were a bridge toll, that’s different—but paying just for passing through for a few seconds? That’s exactly the kind of thing that frustrates people, even if they can afford it. So instead, I drove around the zone to run errands, creating more congestion—when I would’ve just taken the train normally. How does this make sense? 🤔 Am I missing something? Is there any way to drive south to get on the Queensboro Bridge without paying the fee?

Keep New York’s tipped wage credit: “We, owners of Latina restaurants from across New York, must speak out against this proposal. As women who have built businesses in a challenging industry, we know firsthand what it takes to sustain a restaurant here. Eliminating the tipped wage credit would harm the very workers and businesses some claim to want to protect.”

Though it was not clear if the elimination of tax on tips would come from income taxes or the payroll tax. Rigie told amNewYork Metro that the industry has hopes that Trump will uphold this part of his campaign promise. @amNewYork @theNYCalliance
