New paper out in @NatureNano 🎉 We introduce dual-gradient metasurfaces with continuously varying resonances that encode both spectral and coupling information in small footprints. Ideal for probing molecular fingerprints or general light-matter coupling:

Our approach can't just tune the resonances spectrally, but also influence their linewidth and ultimately turn them on and off. Great work led by Haiyang and Wenzheng here in Munich with help from Sasha, and a nice collaboration with our overseas friends @r_berte and Stefan.

Check out our new paper on BIC-driven metasurfaces fabricated directly from vdW heterostructure stacks: This is the culmination of our multi-year efforts on (bulk) vdW metasurfaces and will enable studies of many different encapsulated monolayer systems.
Our latest work on assembling ultra-thin optical cavities in van der Waals heterostructures metasurfaces is out! Leveraging quasi-BIC resonances in hBN encapsulated monolayer WS2 we demonstrate room temperature, nonlinear 2D exciton-polaritons @AndreasTittl
