It’s time to let “our hair down.” I brought my portable WeatherJazz® Studio with me to FOX 8 so that you could eavesdrop on what we all talk about together in the weather office!
I went out on a (very sturdy) limb yesterday by saying that we are totally done with seeing any more 90°F days in 2023.
This year? Only 2:
July 5th = 90°F
September 5th = 91°F

"While many people crowded around our Savior, only a sick woman felt the efficacy of His healing. Likewise, many participate in the ordinances and frequent the assemblies of the church, but only a few sense the inward power of Christ in their souls."

You both do a great job! Did not know you were going to retire. Congrats!
Will - really miss you though. So great to have meteorologists who dive deep into weather on TV. Scott does too.
Only reason I watch Channel 8 is to watch you dig into the weather.
The name “Dick Goddard” is synonymous with weather, dogs, and cats in NEOhio. That’s why I was so excited when I found a WeatherJazz® Season 1 episode from 2009 in which Dick Goddard talked about his life journey.
It's a volatile afternoon with pop-up storms. Here is a view from my drone at 200 feet AGL pointed southeast from the Chesterland area at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2023.
“Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.” Psalms 33:3-5 NLT

After a long 21-day stretch without rain, the rain that moved in Sunday evening sounded lovely! Is this a new pattern? And can we make any sense of the Quebec brush fires last week? Let’s dive in.
Forty years ago this evening, May 2, 1982, at 8 p.m. EDT, The Weather Channel launched with meteorologists Bruce Edwards and Andre Bernier as the anchors.

If we go without rain for the remainder of May (likely), we will have accrued 25 dry days this month. Compare that to the most recent 5 years:
2019 = 11 Days
2020 = 17 Days
2021 = 20 Days
2022 = 19 Days
