At 9.26 am the #Brightline train from Miami passed through #DowntownStuart at #SailfishCircle. Cheers from the crowd as the train went by. The gates closed a few mins before. According to a FRA worker on site the gates open/close automatically and the train has right of way according to the law. Gates do not go up if a vehicle is underneath them (due to whichever reason) as they are going down. A handful of locals showed up too. One person said that the Brightline connection from WPB is too far to be convenient for her. But another one, whose spouse travels to Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale for work, said that having a train stop near downtown Stuart will ease their commute as they don’t want to get stuck in traffic.
