Officer M. Hwang responded to a call for an extremely distraught 11 year old regarding his stolen bike. After the investigation, Officer Hwang purchased him a brand new bike using his own funds. Officer Hwang said he just wanted to make sure he had a bike to ride to school.👮♂️🚲🚨

We are sad to announce the passing of retired K9 Cisko who served with Ofc Bonczkiewicz from May 2008 until June 2015, In 6.5 years of service Cisko aided in the arrest of over 300 suspects & located over $4 million in drug-related money. He succumbed to cancer. Run Free Cisko!
Last night ofcs responded to a DV call where 5 children were contacted along w/numerous adults. 1 of the kids wanted to be picked up. The WC, who is also a dad, picked up the child to comfort him.

Update 10:00 PM (final update): Protest activity has ceased. More than 20 arrests were made, include a group who unsuccessfully attempted to loot a store, thanks to police personnel. Anaheim PD officers will continue to actively monitor the city.

we mourn with you the deaths of Officer Esmeralda Ramierz and Deputy Joseph Solano. Ofc Ramirez died following surgery related to a 2015 on-duty car accident & Dpty Solano was shot in the head as a victim of an off duty murder. RIP

Early this morning, Anaheim PD SWAT personnel took Ysrael Garza into custody. Garza was wanted for the 4/14 murder of Todd Megna in Anaheim. Garza has been booked on a 1 million dollar murder warrant.
Ofcs went to a check the welfare call where a man was passed out behind the wheel w/its door open for a few hours. Ofcs found cocaine, meth, Xanax, cash & a scale in the car. This guy was no Walter White, so he Better Call Saul.

This weekend an out of state officer & his family here on vacation were burglary victims of all their property including the officer’s gun.
Our Investigators recovered all the stolen property, including the firearm & arrested the suspect within 48 hours.

At approximately 6:45 pm, APD ofcrs located a stolen car at Katella/State College. The suspect ran and jumped onto the ground floor patio of an apartment. He is barricaded and says he has a gun and bomb. Katella is closed btwn State College and Stadium Crossing. Updates to follow
This morning at about 230 am a resident confronted a vehicle burglar in the 800 block of S Westchester Dr. During that confrontation the resident shot the burglar who died at the hospital. APD Homicide is investigating and the homeowner is cooperative. Deceased is a 20 YO male.
APD officers seized 156 firearms while investigating a residential alarm call. Many of the guns were illegal assault rifles. Aaron Linss and Daniel Moore were booked for possession of illegal firearms

Anaheim High School has been placed on a lockdown as a precaution due to reports of shots being heard in the area near the school (not on the school grounds). School staff are reporting all is well at the school and all students that are at the school this early are safe.

Units on scene saying there WAS NOT an active shooter and NO shots fired. It was a fire alarm activation that prompted someone to yell “Active Shooter” which created panic. Everything is returning to normal

Ofcs responded to the 2400 block of W. Ball Rd ref a car fire. It turned out the car’s owner was driving when one of his illegal fireworks went off. He pulled over and his car caught on fire as fireworks exploded inside.

Ofcs responded to vandalism call where our helicopter directed them to the suspect vehicle. The car, which was occupied by gang members, was stopped & a gun was located. The driver was unlicensed & the car was towed.
