That's exactly what's happening with us at Jades. We took risks to offer cheaper options, which may not be great for short-term business, but it's the best decision for the long term. Of course, you can't do this with everyone—only with ambitious founders who are truly invested in their projects and doing everything to grow them. An agency is a long-term business. Take risks and ensure you overdeliver so clients remain loyal and won't look elsewhere.
Design agency gurus on X love to say: “Only sell high-ticket offers. Never go cheap.” Here’s a story that proves otherwise: We landed a client with $7-8M in funding. Their first project with us was a $2.5K design gig—they wanted to test the waters before committing big. Fast forward, they’re now in our top 3 clients, contributing 13.6% of our total revenue to date. Lesson: Get your foot in the door, then over-deliver. Clients stick with partners who are reliable and deliver results. Hiring a designer is a headache—they’d rather double down on someone they trust. Don’t buy into the guru BS about skipping “low-ticket offers.” Build trust first, and the high-ticket opportunities will naturally follow.
