My great grandfather worked on the eastern railroad. Skyscrapers weren't really a thing back in the day. The white house and US capitol were built by slaves. DC started off essentially as a federal plantation, which is why the white house is done in antebellum style.

That's projection. African nations have not kept records. Most black Americans can pull up census records from 200yrs ago with their families documented, Africans generally can not do this. Most Africans don't even have birth certificates.

She's trying to understand, hut misses the mark on basically everything. Most black Americans never wanted to be lumped in with africans, it was something forced by the US department of education and media. Early on, black Americans assumed it was no big deal. Now they see it is.

I don't understand why folks attack black Americans for the native acknowledgement when they are literally forced to wear the label "African-American" by the US gov while us islanders call ourselves "West Indians" and "Caribbeans", a term derived for Carib natives.

Pan-Africans are uneducated on how genetics works. Past a few hundred years irrelevancy comes into play. At 400 years you and trump are probably related, so yeah 200yrs ago my great grands(white, black, mixed, and native) were in south Carolina so yeah that's where I'm "from" SC.

Black Americans aren't displaced Africans, never were. They are a mixed ethnic group who's ethnogenesis happened in America thus making them ethnically American. It's why most don't look african.

Shitting on the south is popular up north for some reason, it's encouraged as a superiority flex, but I don't do it. The south is our true "homeland" it where my great grandparents were from, and that's true for 95+% of northern black Americans.

But they benefited off of the US caste system that had black Americans at the bottom. Immigrating to the US was an automatic social boost for poor Europeans because the necessary bottom rungs of US society were already filled with an agricultural worker class(blacks).

I did research it and it turns out I'm ancestorally from........south Carolina. Going back too far say past 200 years becomes irrelevant because at that point a person has like 1000 grand parents spanning all continents.

"The diaspora" is a problematic concept in that it makes africa the focal point for many people that are not actually, functionally african diaspora, essentially giving strangers rhetorical power over them. Niger-Americans, for example, are legit african diaspora, Blk am. r not.

We are not immigrants though. The US didn't exist in the 1600s. We are "native" in the objective sense in that our ethnic group as a whole predates the establishment of the modern nation state that now covers america.

None of what you said is true. Most white Americans are derived from immigrants that came through NYC in the 19th and 20th centuries. Black Americans great grands were in America before the United States even existed.
