@James_West_PhD Yeah, AI has definitely taken a bite out of Wiki as the first line of info, though AI is in part pulling from Wiki. I've long used Wiki simply to mine its footnotes, which turn up a lot of sources that search engines won't easily find.

@James_West_PhD By the same token, I think it's a mistake to judge Wiki, which over 62M pages, based on the comparatively infinitesimal number of politically charged pages taken over by ideologues.

@CjgbVictoria @James_West_PhD I am aware. I've published on this subject. But nothing is stopping people with other politics to join Wiki in sufficient numbers to act as a check. This is what democratizing info looks like. Democracy works only insofar as folks participate.

@James_West_PhD I agree that on political current event topics, community Notes is typically more accurate. I think the reason why is because they have *more* gatekeeping, not less. They don't just let anyone edit, as Wiki does.

@PurePopPub To contribute to Community Notes, users need to meet a number of eligibility criteria and earn a certain rating impact score. To edit Wiki, users need to pass the spoon test (place a spoon under your nose and see if it mists up).

@James_West_PhD Wiki actually has less gatekeeping than Community Notes in terms of who can edit, and Twitter is not without its own ideological bent. The big difference is really that each contributor-base skews in different political directions.

@HistoryBoomer Sadly, the people who need to hear this take the fact that experts overwhelmingly disagree with them as proof of corruption and their own righteous freethinking.

@ayman_eckford I really liked most of the characters, but found the antagonists to be underwhelming after the first couple seasons. I'm one of those annoying people who often likes the main character best.
