Especially in the late 2010’s. I’m honestly thankful Roman survived that because the Tribal Chief gimmick literally saved his career. And regarding those WM main events, I mainly point to his stinkers against HHH and Undertaker. Both of those were bad for different reasons. With HHH, people did not care. People didn’t care about this match and for good reason. Just listen to the crowd noise. With Undertaker, people didn’t wanna see him be the one to retire a legend like him. Now, if Vince would’ve booked Roman in a more balanced way, people would’ve been more open to it but I digress. Doesn’t help that the match was awful from an in ring perspective too. Thankfully AJ Styles eventually was the one to retire Undertaker in that Boneyard match so there’s that. Sorry for the rambling 😭
