@Mital_Kamani11's #hcil2024 talk on 3d user manuals in an older adult-led makerspace was amazing! So impressed that you designed, ran a study, and conducted prelim analysis along all the other great things you've been getting your master's degree... we will miss you at THAT lab!

This is a wonderful article! (also I am at @INFOCollegeUMD in College Park, not Baltimore :))
📸 Photos, videos, and music help reignite once-lost memories for people with #dementia. @UMBaltimore's @Amanda_Lazar discuss how #caregivers can use this media:

In this week's THAT lab meeting we watched @sheetz91 break down fear-raising design practices in the citizen app, harms caused, AND ways to address them. Amazing CHI 23' award winning work / presentation

@smunson @katiesiek @BenJelen_ Ah I see! We (or at least I!) often do the same UCD process and hope for the best, telling participants to do whatever they want. Co-auth @alisha_pradhan is doing really interesting work on tailoring participant scaffolding because we limitless options don't work too well for us!

@smunson @katiesiek @BenJelen_ We did not determine the analysis methods before the workshop- I'd say there was an implicit assumption we would take an approach like Analysis 2, through the lens of IoT for Aging. But when we ran the workshop we noticed a couple things that led us in this different direction...

So impressed with @alisha_pradhan (also loved having an opportunity to work with @leahfindlater) --- and everyone, this is work from Alisha's master's thesis that is getting the @acmtochi best paper award of 2020! Just wait until you see what she is doing as she wraps up her PhD
@acmtochi is happy to announce the 2020 best paper award winner: “Use of Intelligent Voice Assistants by Older Adults with Low Technology Use” by authors @alisha_pradhan , @Amanda_Lazar at @iSchoolUMD and @leahfindlater at @UW, US. Congratulations!
