With great sadness we report the passing of K9 Karlo. Karlo had gone in for a teeth cleaning and had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. Everything was done to save Karlo but he did not survive.
We are very thankful for Karlo. Our hearts are with his handler, Lt. Splawn.
We're aware of some comments made to bring violence to our area. We've made the necessary arrangements and have the resources to protect our community and businesses, and are in direct communication with our public safety partners should we need assistance.

Officer didn’t even try to stop this bike on 400... just said a quick prayer the driver doesn’t lose control. When they wreck at these speeds, they don’t walk away.
Only one word to describe this. Stupid.

Parents, if you’ve heard or saw our emergency vehicles at the school this morning, we responded to a fire alarm. Smoke was seen and the children were evacuated. The source was a HVAC unit that overheated. All kids are back inside safe and sound.

This is what we want everyone to be warned about. If you are driving on these roads you need to slow down. Your stopping distance is not the same.

Lifeguards spotted a swimmer in distress and immediately sprang into action pulling the subject out of the pool and administering CPR. Our public safety team provided additional aid until EMS arrived to transport the victim to the hospital where he is recovering.
If you’re passing Public Safety HQ during this next week, you may see MPO Rocks' motorcycle draped in black, by the flag poles. It stands in honor and memory of him. Those wishing to pay their respects can park in our lot & follow the walkway up to the flagpoles.
We are setting up command at Fiserv in reference to a possible person armed. No shots have been fired, no injuries, this is not an active shooter.
Still attempting to locate an armed person. Will continue update as more information is obtained.

Recently, a few of our officers went above & beyond to assist a mother & her 11-year-old son who was running away. It turns out that sometimes, all that's needed is someone to talk to. Kudos to Sgt. Tappan, Ofc. Bice & Ofc. Frank for helping him voluntarily return home with mom!

Officer Ritchie had some technical issues with his Twitter and Instagram accounts. He’s expecting to have both up next week!
