I guess I can add "virtual midwife" to my resume because I was up all night helping deliver kittens on the phone!
My little sister had a very young, very pregnant foster cat and helped her deliver 6 babies successfully throughout the night. So proud of her! 🥰
I just have to take a pause here and say thank you to everyone who has been working so hard to bring

stronger for all of us. Once the herculean task of getting us to the grand opening is complete, my focus will be primarily classes, workshops, creator camps, advocacy, and collaborative community. 💪💪
I've been so humbled and honored by the outpouring of love and support from my community, from my peers, and from our industry. I want you to know that every donation, every offer of help, every encouraging message is so greatly appreciated as we continue to build something
D&D out of context from last night:
"The inn moves very gracefully on its hundreds of legs, like hundreds of ballerinas moving as one."
"But.. just their legs." 😬😬
One of the reasons documentaries, articles, and other pieces on sex workers are often damaging, even if they don't appear to be on the surface, is that the narrative often focuses on exploitation and trauma as the primary theme. The trauma is the why and origin, which takes focus
He's like oh it's you again, what are you doing to your teeth?
Me? Why is it always me? Why can't you make these things out of titanium to withstand my grinding from holding back my shitty commentary about people? I'm doing the world a favor.
For those of you who might not know, I was a Siamese breeder for about a decade. It was very expensive and time consuming, but delivering newborns never gets less magical. I was up joyful crying with my sister and she's not even my cat! 🥲🥲
Binary thinking has infested SW Twitter and it's ruining us.
"The antidote to binary thinking full-spectrum thinking. Instead of making assumptions and broad generalizations, full-spectrum is when we investigate the nuance and explore the gray areas."
I'd like to point out that I was teargassed and flashbanged for stepping into the street during peaceful BLM protests over the summer.
But apparently you can just waltz into the capitol and riot if you're a Trump supporter without any consequences.
Yes, the
#EarnItAct
WILL censor adult creators of ANY media. Whether it’s art, videos, SW, fiction. Counties are banning books on the holocaust because of nudity. You think they have good intentions, that this bill beingby republicans has good intentions?
#StopTheEARNITAct2022
You heard it here: this is the year I actually get back to writing.
Hear that, self? Less social media and perusing Amazon for shit you don't need, more clickety clack on that keyboard giving form to your esoteric thoughts. Don't make me get the cane.
The message needs to be "sex workers are rebellious innovators and architects of connection" rather than "oh look how we survived even though we experienced trauma."
We need more stories of triumphant glory and how choose our work with self-knowledge and passion.
👏👏👏👏
"While it is a positive development to see the EARN IT Act not receive a vote during Congress, the fight is far from over. A similar bill like it could easily be introduced in the upcoming legislative session, so people must remain vigilant."
Its is good to drag these things out into the light and address where and how we're being exploited but that's only one small piece of the story. It cannot be the hook we use to get the world to see us, because they will only ever see us as something to pity or patronize.
We also need more stories of POC sex workers that don't hinge on "look where they came from, those poor things" but rather look what they're doing, building, and creating. I want the stories of black and brown SWers that celebrate those successes without the caveats.
away from the who and how. It crystalizes the view that we are broken, battered creatures who (even if we succeed), will always be tarnished and discounted. Trauma is unavoidable for everyone, it's simply part of the human condition. None of us get out unscathed.
I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE SAM AND BUCKY SHOW
but I have too many thoughts and I can't really organize them well at the moment.
So let's ONLY talk about John Walker, right now.
Let us meet with bravery whatever may befall us. Let us never feel a shudder at the thought of being wounded or of being made a prisoner, or of poverty or persecution.

they are, not WHAT they are. That should include their original and experiences in and out of the sex industry. Just my personal take, of course.
@Lavernecox
It's a very difficult position to be in, personally and politically, and we appreciate the consideration of how this project would affect us.
@DominaCarmilla
I think the story is important, but it's just not over-emphasized as the primary narrative.
I think the hook is the story of someone's personal passions that sex work allows them to persue, and how they navigate the changing landscape of sex work. I want to know more about WHO
@HollandChicago
Unsure yet, but sometime this year. We're still in negotiations about distribution, since the film festival circuit has been wrecked from the pandemic.

I think you mistook my account here for a news channel, and not my own political snark. But feel free to speak to me that way and enjoy your block. 😘
