As an organ preservationist in 2014/15, I was involved with only a few DCD transplants. Since then, the use of DCD hearts has increased, and I'm excited to attend this event to learn more about the current research to increase the donor pool of available hearts.

@action_ap A pressure measured by inserting a swan-ganz catheter into a PA branch and inflating a balloon. This pressure can be assumed to represent left atrial pressure and tells you a lot about left-sided function. Gotta love assessing hemodynamics in real-time!

Congrats to Dr. Kirtane and the Eclipse investigators for getting this trial done. Dr. Kirtane was a great PI to work with. Always very hands-on and available to answer patient questions during the consent process and assist the RC’s in the lab.
