The Diminished Scale consists of alternating whole & half-step intervals. It is playable over a Diminished 7th chord from the same root or a Dominant 7th chord a half-step below. It can move in sequences of a Minor 3rd, Tritone & Major 6th (aka Double-Flat 7th in this context).
