Good time to bring up, the Swans don't have back-to-back home games in 2024.
On the road every second week.
GWS play at 12 different venues in 23 games.
Collingwood and Carlton travel twice each for the rest of the season.
Essendon once, in the final round.
Errol Gulden with a polite but strong response to the ongoing discussion surrounding the byes and 'fairness' of the fixture.
The Swans and Gulden were very impressive today, downing Geelong at the SCG.

They had that within 48 hours of opening.
If you’re complaining that you missed out before they switched off the prices or if you were on Loft (I’m one of them)

GA for Flem tomorrow $35.95
Once you’re in;
A beer costs $10
Bucket of chips $6
So tomorrow if you lob in for the first, you’re down $50 already before having a bet.
For the same $50, you can get a Parma and 2 pints at the pub.
Legendary trainer Gai Waterhouse has unloaded about the cost of going to the races and called on race clubs to regularly open the gates for free.
“Why not just go to McDonald's — get yourself a burger and then go and watch the races in the pub?"
I get being reactionary, but this morning McRae may reflect & wish he didn’t say this.
Three times against the Crows.
The non 50 vs North.
The Grand Final trip.
The non free kick to Toby Greene in the prelim.
All times non calls, have helped Collingwood late in games.
Shout out to all the Essendon fans, who have been in my mentions all year saying the Swans are soft and they can’t wait to ‘get’ the Swans in round 23.
Enjoy 🍻
Collingwood fans really don't understand the added stress on the body and brain, travelling away from your family and home comforts for 1-3 nights, every second week for 6 months does to the human body when also asked to perform at the highest level every week over that period.
I don’t understand why people are confused as to why David Eustace is going to HK.
Has no costs whatsoever.
Trains in his own name.
Low tax rate.
Easier / slower lifestyle.
Has phenomenal contacts in both Australia and Europe when it comes to sourcing horses.
BREAKING 🚨
Major blow for the Sydney Swans. Callum Mills will miss the preliminary final after straining his hamstring at training yesterday.
Not yet confirmed whether he will be ready if they qualify for the GF.

Sydney hosting Port in a Preliminary final is a media narrative dream.
Swans haven't beaten Port since 2016 (8 games in total), average winning margin to Port is 33.9 points.
Last 10 at the SCG, Swans lead 7-3.
#AFLFinals
Heeney in that last quarter was utterly phenomenal.
Pure insanity from the one of the best in the comp.
Is that what gets the Swans going again, or was that a Collingwood side who ran out of puff.
#AFLSwansPies
Heeney has 14 touches and a goal in the last Q
Warner with 14 and a goal too.
Two superstars putting a team on their back and just getting it done.
But Heeney, was next level.
#AFLSwansPies
Lauding Maynard for “holding up the game” probably isn’t the comment to make when his hands were in Greene’s face & slipped a sly elbow in.
#AFLGiantsPies
Zach Tuohy dropped for Geelong.
Tom Stewart in as the only change.
Oisin Mullin keeps his spot.
Sam De Koning left out again.
The Lions unchanged for the 2nd straight week.
No Taylor Adams for Sydney. Fox in for Mills.
Dixon + Burton back for Marshall + Lorenz at the Power
The Swans are the
#1
vibes team in the
#AFLW
The culture they have created between the fans and club is something all clubs should look into & how to create it themselves.
Without Callum Mills, the Swans went 14-3 with a percentage of 145.
The three losses came by a combined 8 points.
With wins over Hawthorn (76 points), Geelong (30) GWS x 2 (29 & 27) - they had not played Brisbane or Port yet.
A loss yes, but quite clearly not a massive one.
This is horrendously bad umpiring.
Have a feel for the game.
Don’t impose yourself on the game because you have a whistle.
Fans don’t care about the umpires, they’re trying to watch footy.
#aflswansport
This is just weird;
Mr Brightside has beaten AB home the last 6 times they have met.
+ he leads AB in H2H matchups 7-3.
He’s also won 2 Doncasters.
The second with top weight beating home AB by 13 lengths.
Why can’t we celebrate two awesome geldings that turn up year on year?
Luke Parker has informed the Sydney Swans of his request to be traded to the North Melbourne Football Club.
Parker has played 293 games for the Swans since being drafted with pick 40 in 2010.
When Dad moved the family to Wagga in 2004.
Country TAB races were only worth $8,000 - $10,000.
To have races worth 27k at your regular meetings, highways worth 120k. Plus the Kozi & Country Championships is bloody phenomenal for country trainers.
Matt Roberts should be top 3 in rising star voting.
If he was in Victoria ww would be losing his mind at how good his last 6 weeks has been.

Collingwood fans booing Ginnivan given the vitriol they had towards the public for booing him is utterly hilarious.
All well and good for Maynard to be tough towards Ginnivan when he’s on the deck.
Ginnivan has had 14 touches to Maynard’s 2.

I’m barred from betting on the tote at any country and provincial meeting Australia wide by Sportsbet.
When asked why that happened.
“Because we can”
@sothegreatgame
At the risk of going against the grain, I actually think Sportsbet have a very good history of betting smart/pro punters. Speaking more in racing than Sport, but during my time there and afterwards I’d rate them more punter-friendly than most.
Confirmed: Sydney Swans will wear their home jumper with the red shorts and the Brisbane Lions will wear their maroon home jumper with the maroon shorts. As pictured below.

Swans utterly woeful in the second half
3.11
+ bad choices with the footy all day.
Players on the chopping block with Adams as sub, Mills & Parker due back.
To the positive they have lost 3 games of footy by a total of 8 points this season & are 2 games clear
#AFLSaintsSwans
Once again
It is not Logan McDonald’s fault the Swans lost a game of footy.
Good on him for having the confidence to have a crack.
Watch him flush one in a big final because of this.
Logan McDonald for the second week in a row had the chance to win the game for the Swans 😱

The Sydney Swans sit three games clear at the top of the ladder after round 15.
But Sam McClure has Carlton "on the same rung" as the Swans for one key reason.

Takes some serious professionalism to be presenting on tv, see your horse scratched at the gates in a race worth 250k and carry on with the broadcast as if nothing has happened.
I would have lost it.

Dean Cox has just opened up his AFL app, checked the scores at Geelong and nodded, knowing that the decision to stay in Sydney was the correct one.

The Western Bulldogs lobbied hard privately and were disappointed to get the Friday night final. It clashes with their first AFLW home match at Whitten Oval.
Sydney wanted the Friday night timeslot, but got the Saturday afternoon.

Collingwood (by end of 2024 H&A) have played 18 of 74 games interstate since the start of 2022.
Aka 13% of their games played in that time.
GWS by comparison will have played 43 of 71 (plus another 3 at the SCG) interstate aka 60.5% of their games at the end of H&A 2024.
Second week in a row, John Longmire and selection committee have got it wrong.
Ladhams in and Parker as the sub.
Questions need to be asked as to why Longmire and co made certain selection decisions.

The only real issue I have is that Zerk-Thatcher swatted Naughton in the face and concussed him. Nothing, not even mentioned.
Butters, Hogan etc punch dudes and get off their suspensions
The inconsistency is wild, I hope in 2025 the MRO is a full time position.
The Doncaster is utterly mouth watering.

This Waihaha Falls argument is ridiculous, he isn't the first horse to miss a race because his rating isn't good enough nor will he be the last.
WF could have had a run in the last month & got his rating up but didn't.
He is still running tomorrow anyway.
Get over it and move on.
Owners carrying on like this when a pundit has an opinion is why racing will never progress beyond what it is now.
Racing is a sport built on opinions.
It’s why we bet.
Only in racing, when you fairly criticise a horse / ride / trainer, you’re maligned for having an opinion.
“Miles you’re officially the flog of the century; I pronounce you king flog of racing and king of the sub 50 IQ twitter cesspool that you inhibit.

Bedford gets 3 weeks, where he didn’t look to harm his opponent, yet unfortunately Taranto was concussed.
Hipwood, despite never looking at the ball and only has eyes to hit Blakey gets off with a fine as Blakey isn’t injured.
What a joke, the system is broken.
This Carlton love in, is a bit OTT.
They beat West Coast.
A team who have won 10 games in three seasons. Yesterday was a fourth time for the season they had been held to a score in the 30's.
@LMcKirdy7
It’s quite alarming that a ‘swat’ can be given a week and upheld when challenged.
Yet, intentional punches from Jesse Hogan and Zak Butters to opponents faces get thrown out.
If the other two had been upheld, there would be much less uproar.
Just a reminder that Nick Daicos only won the AFLCA player of the year award because Fly did this in R21. Didn't deserve even 1 vote, but his unethical coach thought he'd try and get him the award instead of voting the match fairly

Paying attention to how much Qantas bump up flight prices.
A Thursday - Sunday return flight from Sydney to Melbourne is ~$700 inc taxes.
Let’s see what it gets to
Great stuff from Lachlan here
"The SCG has long been recognised as one of the smaller grounds in the competition. It’s current length of 155m is the smallest in the AFL, but only fractionally behind the Gabba (156m) and MCG (160m)."
While the Swans are winning almost everywhere in 2024, they've turned the SCG into a fortress.
Record crowds are giving them a big boost, but the numbers show they're adapting their game plan to create a massive home-ground advantage.

But today is a huge wake up call to the Swans.

What a great loss to the racing industry, sorry to hear you have been made redundant Glenn.

spoke brilliantly post game.
The positive and forward looking mindset she exuded with ways in which she can help the
@SydneySwansAFLW
team has to be commended in what would be a trying time for her.
Why would Dean Cox go to West Coast when the Eagles still haven’t started their rebuild?
They have another cliff coming, the next coach won’t last more than 4 seasons in charge.
Or
He stays at the Swans with a great list and looks near certain to be the next coach in Sydney.
I’ve seen people say;
“Verry Elleegant can’t win as she doesn’t get it as wet as she likes it”
They must have missed her hacking up in a Melbourne Cup on good ground.
Plus the Caulfield Cup win on a 6.
Considering they sold out the three Perth games + the Olympic qualifier in Melbourne.
Which makes it 12 straight home games they have sold out.
I would say plenty are still watching.
Women’s A-League crowds are higher than ever also.
Don’t be ignorant and sexist.
Grow up.
Anyone have any update on the statues of the Matildas for finishing fourth at the women’s soccer World Cup!!!!! 😂 😂 😂
