The Darkstar in the new @TopGunMovie seems pretty realistic for good reason. Jerry Bruckheimer told me that it was actually designed with Skunk Works engineers. The US Navy told him China reoriented a spy satellite to get pics of it, thinking it was a real experimental aircraft.

@Tee_Boards The situation you’re talking about is called the Kessler Syndrome and it’s a genuine (and growing) concern. As the number of satellites in orbit increases, so too do the chances of a Kessler scenario. That’s a big part of why anti-sat tests were much less dangerous in the 1980s!
