On October 9, 2024, at 10:57 p.m., the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) was called to the 3200 block of San Luces Way in Union City for a structure fire.
Crews found a garage fully involved.
Two people have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
⚠️On Friday, October 4, 2024, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a red flag warning for parts of the Bay Area, which includes the East Bay Hills.
🔥🔥On September 30, 2024, at 7:25 p.m., the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) was called to the scene of a two-alarm fire in the 900 block of Williams Street in San Leandro.
When crews arrived, a single family home was on fire, threatening other structures.
On September 29, 2024, at 3:23 PM, the Alameda County Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire in the 14600 block of Washington Avenue in San Leandro.
Three people were inside a burning apartment. Two managed to escape, one person and their family dog did not survive. 💔
Yesterday ACFD responded to an apartment fire on the 20500 block of Forest Ave, in Castro Valley.
Two adults and one elderly person went to a local hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation.
Two other occupants were displaced and received help from the Red Cross.

🚒It is true that firefighters rescue cats from trees!
It actually happened on September 11, 2024, when Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) probationary Firefighter Vladislav Zherebnenko and Truck 31-B shift rescued a cat in a Union City park using an aerial ladder.
🚒🔥At 2:19 a.m., the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to a 40-foot semi-truck trailer that crashed into the center divide at NB238 and I-580.
The driver was not injured. The trailer was hauling food and produce.
Firefighters are still on scene.
