I keep thinking about how weird it is that I've been watching Dexter since the third season was originally airing and my parents had no idea I was watching a show about serial killers. For context, I'm around the same age as the actress who plays Astor in the show.

David Powers has a book called Zayd which I really like. I think he goes too far into revisionism when talking about it but I really like his idea that Zayd was originally supposed to be the heir of the Prophet.

There's something deeply beautiful in all this. As much as politicians divide the people, we have solidarity with each other. A Swedish girl is dear to Tunisians because she's trying to help Palestinians. It almost makes you hopeful for the future.

This is actually something of Trump that I agree with. The Department of Defence is really more about waging war on others to expand the American Empire, so calling it what it is seems fit.

It's now been confirmed: Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahhawi was assassinated in an IDF airstrike on Sana'a two days ago. He was killed alongside a number of state ministers during what Yemen's presidential office says was a routine government workshop.
