I think in chapter 112, we were meant to question if Eren was actually being genuine during that table scene. Him randomly saying that he hated Mikasa came out of nowhere, and it caught his friends and the audience off guard.

I think before chapter 50, Eren had mixed feelings about Mikasa. On one hand, he saw her as someone close, but he also had developing feelings for her.
When chapter 50 happened, he realized he was in love but didn't know how to process his feelings, so he never said anything.
