We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of our 2-year project under the Markets for Youth Programme delivered by @GOALUganda in partnership with @MastercardFdn . This impactful partnership has been a step forward in building resilience for young farmers across 18 districts in 5 sub-regions. Since 2022, we have successfully 1. Built capacity for 34 Youth Champions on agriculture insurance as Special Agents in Agriculture Insurance 2. Trained and sensitized over 20,000 small holder farmers including women, PWDs and refugees. 3. The project built resilience of over 10,000 farmers by protecting then against uncertainties in agriculture production. This week, our team had the privilege of working with @selfhelpafrica youth farmer group leaders at their Kiryandongo and Adjumani Country Offices as part of the “Special Agents in Agriculture Insurance Training”. #AgricultureInsurance is growing steadily under the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme, and it's thanks to dedicated organizations like @selfhelpafrica , who not only connect directly with farmer groups and cooperatives on the ground but also ensure they link them to essential risk management tools like insurance- that protect their livelihoods and build resilience.  Our Special Agents Programme, employs  a TOT model to ensure knowledge spreads effectively throughout farmer groups. This is also in line with insurance sector regulations that allow individuals to sell or train in agriculture insurance and still earn a commission off it as licensed agents.
