On February 25, 1957, a large holly tree near the Dover Airforce Base was relocated to the John Dickerson Plantation. Workers from W. Southard Jones, a Wilmington landscape contractor, dug up the tree, balled up the roots, wrapped them in burlap, and transported it to the farm.

Did you know most cases of avian influenza have occurred because of wildlife introductions? As the temperatures drop, wildlife will try to find warmer places to go. Head out to your poultry barns and start looking for ways wildlife could come in contact with your birds.
