OTD, January 7, 1893, the State Agricultural College foot-ball team traveled to Longmont by train, bought green and orange ribbon to pin to their shirts and played the 1st football game in school history. Happy 132nd birthday @CSUFootball. @CSUAlumni (photo taken 1-25-1893)

@ColoradoStateAD Tim is a great guy, I’m glad he has been at CSU the past few years. He helped me make sure the 1925 homecoming flag was always in a player’s hands at kickoff. Good luck to him.

@aaryck23 @CSUFootball @CSUAlumni I saw a similar one on eBay a while ago, there are not many out there. I bought that one in 2000 at an old department store called Sears.

@whitee34 @CSUFootball Thanks Eric, I do enjoy writing about our history. A trophy honoring agriculture would be appropriate. I’m not sure what it would look like but something that has the importance of both school’s agricultural heritage. I would, however, name it the Romney-Hughes Trophy.

Just got back from Dyekman Trophies with an updated score plate for the Bronze Boot. It’s been a busy year for Dyekman updating both trophies, special thanks to them for getting it done so quickly. Trophies are back in the Hall of Champions for Friday. @CSUFootball @CSUAlumni

@CliffIsmay No enclosed promenade, the wing bridge does not have the partial enclosure, no whistles on the smoke stacks, no lifeboats and of course 4th funnel.

@ColoradoStateAD This is wonderful news!!! The Boot’s current score plate has enough space to add games till 2047, then we use the sides and it will last past 2068.

Ask a Wyoming fan who was around in 1966 and they still think the Bounce Pass was an illegal play. It was legal and helped the Rams beat the #10 Cowboys. The game was won on great defense. This legendary game helped lead to the creation of the Bronze Boot. @CSUFootball @CSUAlumni

This is where it all began, 1899 never happened. When I came across this story 32 years ago while researching, it makes sense why this rivalry has lasted. I didn’t even get to tell the story of the 1900 game, when Wyo players broke our coach’s collarbone. @CSUAlumni @CSUFootball
